Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the incredible taste of the dishes, noting that the steak and roast dinners shine, particularly on Sundays when the pub is filled with families enjoying the traditional fare.

The beer selection garners high praise, with patrons appreciating its quality and variety. Many find the atmosphere welcoming, aided by responsive and friendly staff, which contributes to a laid-back dining experience.

The large garden area is another highlight, giving patrons a perfect place to relax in warmer months. With dog-friendly areas, furry friends are also part of the picture, making it an inclusive environment for all.

Most Disliked

Some diners point out peak times can lead to longer waits, particularly on busy Sundays when the pub reaches full capacity. Those looking for a quiet meal might want to avoid these hours.

Occasionally, conflicting events like quiz nights can lead to a noisier environment, which may deter those seeking a peaceful setting for conversation or a family gathering.

The pub can be a little tricky to find for first-time visitors, given its location on a busy road. A little signposting could help direct guests to this hidden gem more easily.

Our first time at this pub. We sat in the bar as there was a quiz on in the restaurant tonight. Neil ordered the Fish and chips and I had the lasagne. Portion size was good and the food was well presented. Good size salad with the lasagne and the garlic bread was lush. We both decided to try the Biscoff cheesecake and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. It was amazing. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went here for lunch yesterday and trust me if you go, you will not be disappointed. I had a baguette and my wife a gammon from the light menu. Well kept ale and good selection of gins for the wife. A real find.

What a gem The Lord Nelson Winthorpe Pub is! I popped in today for Sunday dinner and was thoroughly impressed. The roast was exceptional, with brilliant quality meat that was cooked to perfection and roast potatoes that were wonderfully crispy – exactly how they should be! The pub itself has a lovely traditional atmosphere, making it feel instantly welcoming. Service was both friendly and efficient, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable meal. And for the beer lovers, they genuinely serve top-quality beer here. If the weather's good, don't miss their charming beer garden. If you're looking for an outstanding Sunday dinner experience in a classic pub setting, this is the place to go!

Can't comment on food, as we didn't eat there. Lovely pub with friendly staff. Big garden with seating on different levels. Live band was setting up to play, but didn't have time to stay to listen. Will definitely return if in the area again.
